A PhD candidate from Curtin University, Australia, undertook a short-term mobility visit under the Erasmus+ programme at the University of Economics – Varna.
The visit took place from 29 June to 3 July 2026 and aimed to support the development of the doctoral research project, as well as to contribute to the enhancement of key competencies in the field of marketing. The academic exchange provided an opportunity for in-depth scientific discussions, the exchange of knowledge and ideas, and the exploration of current issues related to the doctoral candidate’s research topic.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Desislava Serafimova, Head of the Department of Business and Administration, hosted the visit and acted as the academic supervisor during the mobility period. As part of the programme, Jie Tan participated in a series of working meetings, consultations, and practical workshops designed to support the development of her doctoral thesis.
The programme included a presentation and discussion of the progress achieved in the doctoral research, the provision of academic feedback and guidance for future research activities, as well as an exchange of good practices between the two institutions. During the mobility, the doctoral candidate also visited the university library and became acquainted with the available academic resources that will support the further development of her research.
The completed mobility contributed to strengthening the partnership between the University of Economics – Varna and Curtin University, creating opportunities for future joint research initiatives.
The doctoral mobility represented a valuable professional and academic experience, contributing to the development of the doctoral candidate’s research skills, the expansion of international academic networks, and the promotion of internationalisation in higher education.
