The BSc International Business provides a framework for students to learn core theoretical concepts and develop key skills and competencies.
You will study core subjects such as Economics, Management, Finance, Marketing, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, Accountancy, Statistics, European Union Law and International Law.
You will study specialized subjects which aim to build a solid background in international business. Among these are: International Economics and TNC, International HR and Quality Management, International Marketing Management, International Trade Policy, Research Methods for Business, etc.
You will develop professional business competences such as: international marketing planning, business communications, project management, problem solving for business.
Along innovative study opportunities, you will have internship(s) in international companies. There you will learn to:

You will gain theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills by applying business research, solving real business case studies, taking part in cross-debates, preparing business-oriented projects, etc.
In your third year of study you will complete a work placement.
In your final year you will graduate by (1) either competing a diploma project (2) or by taking a comprehensive final exam.
Career opportunities
You will be able to work in international companies and perform efficiently. You will able to allocate organizational resources, think creatively and analyze business processes critically.
Graduates can pursue careers as managers or analytical specialists in international trade, international marketing, and international tourism, among others. Successful graduates can also set up their own business or be committed to international entrepreneurial activities. Students may contribute to different international projects, apply their knowledge and skills as business consultants in the international corporate sector, in international governmental and non-governmental organizations, in public administration, and in scientific organizations.
Once students successfully complete this Bachelor Degree programme, they can further pursue various Master Degree programmes.
І. Professional knowledge, skills, and competencies
The educational process in this program exposes students to broad scope of knowledge, skills, and competencies in the field of international business.
The range of educational preparation of students has the following three implications:
The first implication encompasses broad fundamental student preparation in the fields of: economics, management, finance, marketing, applied mathematics, informatics, accountancy, statistics, law of European Union and international law.
The second implication includes specialized subjects which aim to build and shape a solid profiled background in the field of international business. Among these are: international economics and TNC, international HR and quality management, international marketing management, international trade policy, research methods for business, etc.
The third implication covers subject matters which aim at developing professional business competences such as: international marketing planning, business communications, project management, problem solving for business.
The “International Business” program provides opportunities for the students to acquire skills through innovative education and internship(s) in international companies which in turn allow them to:
II. Organization of educational process
Theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and competencies that have been acquired during the tuition process in the “International Business” program are backed up by efficient contemporary teaching and learning strategies such as: applied business research, solving real business case studies, cross-debates, preparing business-oriented projects, etc. Students learn about international business processes by the work placement opportunities they are offered in the 3rdyear of study.
At the end of their studies in the “International Business” program students are offered two options for their graduation: (1) diploma project or (2) complex state exam.
Students who successfully accomplish their tuition receive the professional qualification degree “Bachelor” in the professional field “Economics” according to the national classification of higher educational fields and the state requirements of Bulgaria.
III. Career opportunities
The purpose of the major “International Business” is to prepare qualified professionals to (1) work in international companies (and/or their divisions); (2) enable efficient performance of their activities; (3) be capable of allocating organizational resources; (4) capture opportunities for business development; (5) think creatively and to analyze business processes.
Graduates can work as managers or analytical specialists on different managerial levels in international businesses engaged in: international trade, international marketing, and international tourism among others. Successful graduates can also set up their own business or be committed to international entrepreneurial activities. Alternatively, they are offered the opportunity to work under different international projects, apply their knowledge and skills as business consultants to official representative offices of international companies, international governmental and non-governmental organizations, public administration, and scientific organizations.
Upon successful completion of this Bachelor program, graduates can further advance in their education to various Master Degree programs.
