The University of Economics – Varna welcomed Professor John O’Brennan from Maynooth University, Republic of Ireland, for a public lecture on “European Leadership” held on September 19, 2025.

Professor O’Brennan, a returning guest and respected scholar in European politics, engaged a packed audience of students and faculty in the university’s Second Building. His visit reflects UE–Varna’s commitment to fostering internationalization and intercultural competence through academic exchange.

The lecture drew particular interest from students enrolled in International Economic Relations, Business and Management (English-taught), and international incoming students within the Erasmus+ program. The diverse audience contributed to a dynamic atmosphere, underscoring the university’s global outlook and inclusive learning environment.

Following the two-hour presentation, a lively and extended discussion unfolded, driven by the relevance of the topic. The event highlighted the importance of collaborative leadership and cultural awareness in shaping Europe’s future.
