We are pleased to invite you to participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Agribusiness and Rural Areas - Economy, Innovation and Growth", organized by the Department of Agricultural Economics in cooperation with the Association of Agricultural Producers in Bulgaria (AAPB) and the Regional Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Varna (RAPIV).

The expected audience of the forum are representatives of leading scientific organizations and universities in the country and abroad, business, public administration and NGOs involved in agribusiness.

Participation in the conference can be either in-person or remote, and participants will be provided with the opportunity for different presentation formats, discussion and sharing of experience and expertise, good production and management practices. The main focus will be on business initiative and agribusiness practices in rural areas.

  • Agribusiness Innovation and Competitiveness;
  • Integrated Rural Development;
  • European and national agricultural policies;
  • "Green Economy;
  • Agri-economic training and its implementation in practice.

During the days 13th and 14th of October 2023, RAPIV will hold a hackathon targeting agri-food start-ups or entrepreneurial talents focusing on the 6 EIT Food innovation areas. The practical aspect of the forum will allow participants and guests to engage in the hackathon and entrepreneurs to benefit from their research findings, consultancy expertise and practical experience.

  • Confirmation of acceptance - 30.09.2023
  • Deadline for payment of the participation fee - 12.10.2023
  • Deadline for submission of the final version of the reports - 30.10.2023

PARTICIPATION FEE WITH REPORT:

  • EUR 60 per paper (for participants from abroad)
  • EUR 30 (for participants from abroad with a second paper)
  • Participation fee is payable by bank transfer

Reasons for payment: Attendance at an AI Department conference; name of attendee (if attendee requires an invoice, the fee must be remitted by a legal entity with a Certificate of Incorporation).

Bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the participant(s). A scanned copy of the payment document certifying the transfer of the fee should be sent to the conference e-mail as well as the full text of the paper.

WORKING LANGUAGES: Bulgarian, Russian, English
A maximum of two papers can be submitted to the conference - either in person or in co-authorship.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PAPERS:

  • Paper length: no more than 10 pages (A4), including figures, graphs, tables and references.
  • Page white space size in centimetres: 2.5 cm for all sides of the page.
  • Pages should not be numbered and should not have footnotes.
  • Papers should be written in .doc or .docx format (MS Office Word 97-2003 or higher).
  • The report file must bear the name of its author (Example: name_name.doc).

TEXT FORMATTING:

  • Title: capital letters in bold centered Times New Roman - Size 12; Author(s) name in one blank line below the title, Sentence case, Times New Roman - Size 12;
  • Title in English: capitals and bold Times New Roman - Size 12; Name of author(s) in Latin script across one blank line below the title, Sente case, Times New Roman - Size 12;
  • University/Institute/Organisation: Sentence case, centred (centre) Times New Roman - Size 12;
  • Abstract in English: up to ten lines through one blank line under author(s) name in English - Size 10, double-spaced - Justify;
  • Keywords in Bulgarian: Size 10, double-spaced - Justify;
  • Abstract in English: up to ten lines per blank line below the name of the author(s) in English - Size 10, double-spaced - Justify;

  • Citation: (in body text only, no footnote citation) - APA style, Times New Roman; Size - 12 pt with Paragraph (line spacing) - 1.5 lines and no additional spacing before and after each paragraph (0 points); double-sided alignment;
  • Bibliography/ References: APA style, Times New Roman; Size - 12 pt with Paragraph (spacing) - 1.5 lines and no additional spacing before and after each paragraph (0 points); double-sided alignment;

Filename: first and last name of the author of the report, separated by underscores. Example: Jhon_Smith.doc or Ivan_Ivanov.docx.

Papers that do not meet the requirements described will not be accepted.

The scientific papers will be published in a collection of papers in electronic format, published by the publishing house "Science and Economics" and indexed in RePec, CEEOL, Google Scholar and included in the National Reference List of Contemporary Bulgarian peer-reviewed scientific journals.
