The forum brought together representatives from the academic community and international relations departments of 19 partner universities from across Europe and beyond. For the first time, the event dedicated to fostering new connections, exchanging experiences, and strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions included the participation of the rectors of Kırklareli University and Świętokrzyskie University in Kielce, Poland.

Prof. Dr. Radan Miryanov – Vice-Rector for International Relations and Partnerships, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vladimir Zhechev – Head of the Marketing Department and Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator, and Dr. Slavena Tsoneva – Head of the International Relations Office.
The forum’s agenda included presentations and discussions on some of the most relevant topics and activities within the Erasmus+ programme: use of modern technical tools and AI in managing student and staff mobility between partner universities, participation and organization of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP); global partnerships, joint educational programmes, and enhancing the experience of international guests; KA2 projects and a dedicated panel on COIL programmes, featuring Prof. Sara Connelly from Conestoga College in Canada, who joined remotely to share best practices.
Participants also had the opportunity to experience Bulgarian traditions, culture, and history, learn more about the University of Economics – Varna and the city, and present their own institutions and countries.
The International Staff Week reinforced existing partnerships and sparked new avenues for collaboration within and beyond the Erasmus+ framework. It stands as a testament to UE–Varna’s strategic vision to cultivate global citizenship, academic excellence, and intercultural dialogue through purposeful internationalization.
