On January 29, 2025, Fraport Twin Star Airport Management organized an event in the government VIP lounge at Varna Airport, attended by representatives of universities from Varna and the local business community.
The event was opened by the host - Dr. Frank Quante, CEO of Fraport Bulgaria, who presented the first-ever direct connection from Varna Airport to the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Quante also revealed details about the upcoming opening in May of this year of the first of its kind open green zone "Gate Garden," which will contribute to the additional satisfaction of Varna Airport passengers.
Among the official guests of the event were His Excellency Abdulrahman Ahmed Aljaber, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Bulgaria, the mayor of Varna Municipality - Mr. Blagomir Kotsev, and the deputy mayor of Varna Municipality - Mrs. Snezhana Apostolova.
His Excellency Abdulrahman Ahmed Aljaber presented interesting facts about his country and the opportunities for cultural tourism and business trips to the audience.
The mayor of Varna Municipality - Mr. Blagomir Kotsev, greeted the host and all the attendees, emphasizing the importance of the new direct line for the development of Varna region.
On behalf of the University of Economics - Varna, long-time directors of the College of Tourism and lecturers - Prof. Dr. Stoyan Marinov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Genka Rafailova, participated in the special event. The invitation from Fraport Bulgaria was also honored by representatives of the International Relations Office - Assis.Prof. Dr. Slavena Tsoneva, Head of IRO and Mrs.Gergana Tsenova, Exchange Programme Coordinator.
