Mr Arnaud Baubérot, the Scientific and University Cooperation Attaché at the French Institute in Bulgaria (Attaché de coopération scientifique et universitaire, Institut Français), and Ms Bisera Kolarova from Campus France Bulgarie, the French National Agency for the promotion of higher education in France, visited University of Economics – Varna on April 7, 2023.
Assoc. Prof. Radan Miryanov, Vice Rector for Internationalization at University of Economics – Varna, and Dr. Petar Petrov, the Accelerator Director, welcomed the guests.
Assoc. Prof. Miryanov hosted a discussion on the collaboration of University of Economics – Varna with French HEIs, including our integration into university networks with French HEIs.
Later our guests met with students and members of faculty and shared details on French government student scholarships. They further promoted French higher education and the francophone programmes in Bulgaria, discussed opportunities for academic and university cooperation, and talked about the French Institute work in Bulgaria in support of science.
France is a leading European partner of Bulgaria in research. France ranks fourth in the world in international students’ admission and comes seventh in admission of Bulgarian students.
The main mission of the Department of Scientific and University Cooperation at the French Institute in Bulgaria is to pursue and promote joint projects in higher education and research between the two countries. Higher education collaboration is further supported by multiple double degree programmes between French and Bulgarian universities.
