My expectations of life in Bulgaria came not true, because the dorms were much better than I expected. In respect to other condition there were no expectations in my smind. I was open-minded. Unfortunately we spent the winter semester here. On the first cold days it was really cold in our classroom, but then with the heater it was better. Everything else is good. Even in the winter Varna is nice city to live in. Every time you will find a way to spend your leisure time. We saw lots of places in Bulgaria and it is incredible how big the variety in one country is. I have made lots of experience: "Bulgaria Today" – I learnt a lot about the country. “The Language of Tourism” and “Business English” - I studied vocabulary concerned to thr topic. Yes, I would recommend to stay one semester abroad in Varna . In our university we also fill in a questionnaire about our experience abroad and interested students can contact you, if they wish to get more detailed information and links. One opportunity to improve the VUE is to arrange the first contact to Bulgarian students earlier. We met the first students during the bus trip through Bulgaria (the Perperikon castle etc.) after four weeks at the university. It is difficult to get in contact with locals, because we didn’t have any classes together, but now we have made really good friends here, it just took so long. |
