From March 18 to March 22, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Kaloyan Kolev, PhD Head of the Department of General Economic Theory at the University of Economics – Varna, participated in a staff mobility under the Erasmus+ program at the University of Johannesburg in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa.
During his visit, Assoc. Prof. Kaloyan Kolev, PhD delivered three lectures to different audiences, which were met with great interest and accompanied by numerous questions:
“Unravelling the Psychology of Price Perception: A Behavioral Approach to Understanding Inflation” for the university’s scientific community.
“Regional Disparities in the EU and Bulgaria: Sources, Dynamics, Regional and Cohesion Policy of the EU” for students and faculty in the master’s program in Regional Development.
“The Bulgarian Transition Experience and the Role of Universities” for undergraduate students in the History and Philosophy program.
In addition to teaching commitments, working meetings were held with Prof. Sehaam Kaan, PhD Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Prof. Hinawune Eita, PhD Director of the School of Economics and Management, regarding the establishment of joint master’s and doctoral programs initiated by the University of Johannesburg.
The visit was also covered by the media, as Assoc. Prof. Kaloyan Kolev, PhD gave a live interview during the lunchtime news broadcast on the university radio station, UJFM.
