Nearly 50 students from 19 countries in and outside the European Union will spend the Summer semester within the "Erasmus+" programme at the University of Economics – Varna. Most of the international students who chose UE – Varna are from Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Poland.
The International Relations Office organized Welcome days for newly arrived students. During the two adaptation days, the students had the opportunity to explore the university building and learn about the history of the university and the basic rules of UE – Varna. Individual meetings were held with an IRO representative who is in charge of the incoming mobilities. The students gladly joined the charity initiative of UE – Varna by donating books in their mother tongues, which were placed in the "book lodge" in the university courtyard.
During the Bulgarian evening, specially organized for the foreign students, the IRO welcomed them according to the old Bulgarian tradition-with bread with salt and honey. Various Bulgarian customs and rituals were included in the programme. Students made martenitsi and participated actively in an interactive game with prizes, demonstrating their knowledge of our country. Their good mood was ensured by the ensemble "Bulgarka", which presented typical Bulgarian folklore traditions and rituals. The students actively participated in the folklore programme and learned how to play a "Straight Bulgarian Horo” dance.
