University of Economics - Varna students presented their youth ideas for creative tourism at the Black Sea Tourism Forum

University of Economics - Varna students presented their youth ideas for creative tourism at the 14th Black Sea Tourism Forum Restarting Tourism – A New Hope, organized on 24 April by Varna Chamber of Tourism in partnership with Bulgaria’s Ministry of Tourism, Varna Municipality, and University of Economics - Varna: https://www.blackseatourismforum.com/

The Forum hosted UE - Varna students who had won the top awards or the incentive prizes at the well-established UE – Varna Student Research Events, held
at the Department of Economics and Organization of Tourism at the University of Economics - Varna and the Tourism Department at the College of Tourism - Varna.

Suzan Ilyazova, a third-year Tourism student, who had won the first award at the UE – Varna Student Research Event, gave a presentation on tourism development trends in Zheravna. The runner-up, Krassimir Topalov, a third-year Tourism student, presented his cakeshop project. Yordan Tabakov, the third award winner, a fourth-year Tourism student, gave a talk on the Armenian national cuisine and creative tourism opportunities.

Radostina Nikolova, Nancy Dimitrova and Dobromir Dobrev, all fourth-year Tourism students, who had won the incentive prizes at the UE – Varna Student
Research Event, presented their ideas on the specifics of the Indian national cuisine and new tourism opportunities. Rositsa and Stanislava Stanchevs, third-
year Tourism students, presented the Chilean national cuisine and new tourism opportunities.

Hristo Hristov and Simona Dimitrova, second-year Hotel and Restaurant Management students at the College of Tourism, first award winners, presented their digital technologies work for the hotel industry. The runner-up, Kristiana Kirilova, a third-year Tourism Management student, presented her ideas on digital
technologies and tourism demand and the expectations of the modern tourism consumer. The third award winner, Dimitar Dimitrov, a third-year Hotel and
Restaurant Management student, shared his work on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the development of tourism, tourism sites and business.

The Forum moderator was Dr. Krassimira Yancheva, chief assistant professor at the Department of Economics and Organization of Tourism, who is also the UE – Varna coordinator for the CATIA alliance. (http://catia2020.ue-varna.bg/)

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radan Miryanov, UE – Varna Vice-Rector for Internationalization, greeted all participants and congratulated them on their work and achievements. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miryanov commented on the UE – Varna huge range of projects. Over a year ago, UE – Varna initiated and coordinated the establishment of the CATIA alliance, which incorporates six more European universities.

CATIA stands for Culture, the Arts, Tourism, Innovation and Alliance. As a coordinator, UE – Varna aims at guiding the network of partners in the cultural
and creative industries. UE-Varna intends to join an increasing number of EU initiatives supporting the cultural and creative industries, such as: the Creative
Europe Programme and the Erasmus + Programme, the Horizon Europe Programme with its special Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society Cluster, the
new knowledge and innovation community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
