The Bulgarian Embassy in Nigeria invited the University of Economics – Varna to organise an online meeting with representatives of Ghanaian institutions this week to strengthen their partnership and promote mobility opportunities for students and staff. The meeting was organised with the assistance of His Excellency Yanko Yordanov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Benin, Ghana and Congo, with residence in Abuja, and offered our Ghanaian partners more background on Bulgarian history and culture, and information about the University.
Representatives of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry, as well as staff from the University of Ghana and the University of Cape Coast heard lectures by members of the academic community at UE – Varna. Chief Assist. Prof. Petyo Boshnakov, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Desislava Serafimova, PhD, and Assist. Prof. Selvet Niyazieva discussed topics, such as the wine sector in Bulgaria, responsible management education in Bulgarian business schools, and new holistic ways to measure business success. The meeting sparked the interest of our Ghanaian partners to learn more about Bulgaria.
The University of Economics – Varna is the first Higher Education Institution in Bulgaria to organise an event of this kind, and it gave UE – Varna the opportunity to present our country as an attractive destination for foreign students from Ghana.
