University of Economics - Varna actively participated in some of the activities for the implementation of the EU-Africa Connect Summer School project, which was carried out within the framework of the "Jean Monet" programme by the University of Lagos – Nigeria (UNILAG), and the University of Pavia – Italy. The lecturers from the Department of International Economic Relations, Assoc. prof Georgi Marinov PhD and Miroslav Kamdjalov PhD gave two lecture sessions to Nigerian students. The topics that assoc. prof. Marinov and Kamdjalov PhD presented were related to the policies of the European Union and European Economic Integration. The invitation for participation came as a result of the good cooperation between UE – Varna and the University of Lagos (UNILAG), as well as thanks to the support that the Bulgarian diplomatic representation in Nigeria in the person of H.E. the Аmbassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Nigeria Yanko Yordanov presents to EU – Varna.
University of Economics – Varna and VUZF are the only higher education institutions from Bulgaria that were invited to join the initiative. By participating in it, UE - Varna indisputably confirms its reputation as a stable partner of the African universities from the Sub-Saharan region.
