The Fourth International Staff Week, organised by the University of Economics – Varna under the Erasmus+ Programme, began yesterday 2023/07/03.
The event opened with greeting from the Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator of the University, Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Zhechev, PhD, who presented the history of UE-Varna, pointing out the high quality of the education, offered by the University to its students.
Special guests of the event were Ms. Liliya Hristova, Director of the Education and Youth Activities Directorate with Varna Municipality, Assoc. Prof. Sibel Ahmedova, PhD, Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator of the Technical University of Varna, Captain I Rank Nikolay Velikov, representative of “Nikola Vaptsarov” Naval Academy, Prof. Todorka Kostadinova, PhD, Vice-Rector of Medical University – Varna “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov”, Mr. Angelo Carelli, City Councilor and Education and Culture Delegate with the Municipality of Salerno, Campania Region, Italy.
Ms. Lilia Hristova greeted the guests and pointed out that Varna is not only a city with strong traditions in education, but also developing as a “City of Knowledge”.
The day continued with a tour around the University and an interactive language course in Bulgarian. The afternoon programme gave the guests the opportunity to present their home institutions and countries.
In the next four days the participants in the International Staff Week will experience Bulgarian culture and traditions and will further develop their international partner networks.
