International Spirit and Record Participation: Nearly 70 Exchange Students Begin the Summer Semester 2025/2026 at the University of Economics – Varna

With the start of the summer semester of academic year 2025/2026, University of Economics – Varna proudly welcomed nearly 70 incoming exchange students to the student community.

Almost 40 of the newly arrived international students are joining through “Erasmus+” mobility program, coming from over 10 different countries both within and outside the European Union. This semester, the campus is enriched by students from Germany, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Portugal, Turkey, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Egypt.

In addition, University of Economics – Varna had the pleasure to welcome 31 students from its long-standing partner, Universal AI University – Mumbai, India, as part of the 6th annual academic exchange between the two institutions. The significant number of participants from Universal AI University – Mumbai this year places this edition among the most substantial in the history of the partnership, highlighting the rising interest in international academic experiences linking Bulgaria and India.

This marks a special milestone, as it represents a record number of incoming exchange students choosing University of Economics – Varna for their study-abroad semester— a testament to the growing international reputation and academic excellence of the institution.

To ensure a smooth and inspiring start, all incoming students participated in specially organized Welcome Days hosted by the International Office. The program offered detailed guidance about academic and student life, administrative procedures, and student services, while also giving students the opportunity to explore the campus. A highlight of the Welcome Days were two engaging lectures delivered by special guest lecturers, including Prof. Vijay Tandon from the Universal AI University – Mumbai and Mr. Evgeni Evgeniev, PhD, a member of the European Commission.

Beyond the formal program, students connected through interactive ice-breaking activities. They also received practical tips and guidance to help them make the most of their stay in Varna and discover the beauty and traditions of Bulgaria.

With record participation of incoming exchange students, the summer semester begins with energy, diversity, and the promise of unforgettable experiences!
