Prof. Andreas Moring, PhD from the International School of Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany visited for the first time UE – Varna as part of the academic exchange within the Erasmus+ programme. The guest-lecturer was invited by a representative of the International Relations Department at the end of 2022 and made his visit to UE – Varna in the period April 24-28, 2023. Chief Assistant professor Ivo Kostov, PhD from the Business, Investments and Real Estate Department hosted the foreign guest, engaging him to participate in a number of University’s events.
On 25.04.2023, an online discussion meeting was held on the topic "The real estate market and the valuation of assets and businesses in an uncertain global environment". The event brought together nearly 150 university and business representatives. The rector of UE – Varna, Prof. Evgeni Stanimirov, PhD honored the third edition of the forum with a personal presence in the TV studio of the university. At the opening of the discussion meeting, Prof. Stanimirov commented on several criteria for a high level of uncertainty (volatility) of the business environment, which have an impact on both the construction industry and the asset valuation process. Experts in the field of real estate and asset valuation from the USA, Germany, Italy, Romania, Belgium, Bulgaria participated in the discussion meeting; representatives of the Chamber of Independent Appraisers in Bulgaria; investment and construction companies; representatives of the IT sector; lawyers, accountants, architects, employees in the state and municipal administration, etc. A record of the meeting is available at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFlSLqNw6IU
On 26.04.2023, Prof. Moring presented a lecture on the topic: "Digitalization and sustainability in the real estate industry" to more than 50 students and lecturers of UE – Varna. The audience highly appreciated the presented lecture by asking a number of questions to the guest-lecturer.
On 28.04.2023, Prof. Moring, together with Dr. Ivo Kostov visited the opening of the construction of a large investment project in the city of Varna. Dr. Kostov shared with his foreign colleague the experience and established practice of UE – Varna to organize meetings for its students in a real business environment. On the last day of his visit, Prof. Moring presented his lecture to the foreign Erasmus+ students of UE – Varna.
